Pakistan calls for countering terrorism by addressing its underlying root causes

Islamabad, September 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):At the United Nations, Pakistan has called for countering terrorism by addressing its underlying root causes. The call was made by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Munir Akram while addressing the session on “Terrorist attacks based on xenophobia, racism and other forms of intolerance or in the name of religion of belief”. The ambassador said Pakistan has lost more than 80,000 precious lives and suffered over 120 billion dollars in economic losses. United Nations Secretary-General reaffirms full support to Pakistan in relief, rehabilitation of flood affectees

He expressed these views during a meeting with Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in Islamabad. Masood thanks USAID Administrator for additional financial assistance of flood relief

Islamabad, September 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US Masood Khan has thanked Administrator of US Agency for International Development Ms. Samantha Power for her announcement of additional twenty million financial assistance for flood relief. In a statement, he said this has taken the total US aid volume to 51.1 million dollars. Ms Samantha Power is currently visiting Pakistan to assess the situation on the ground. Indian police arrest four youth in Sopore

Srinagar, September 10, 2022 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian police have arrested four innocent youth in Sopore town of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. The youth were arrested from a joint naka set up by the Indian police, army and paramilitary Central Reserve Police (CRPF) personnel at Gousiabad Chowk in Chinkipora area of the town. The arrested youth have been identified as Shakir Akber Gojree, Mohsin Wani, Himayun Shariq and Faizan Ashraf. The police dubbed them as over-ground workers of a mujahid organization to justify their illegal detention.
