OIC to hold meeting of Kashmir Contact Group on sidelines of UNGA Session

Islamabad, September 17, 2022 (PPI-OT): Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha will hold the meeting of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir on the sidelines of forthcoming 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly. OIC Secretariat, Jeddah, in a press release on Saturday said the OIC Secretary General will also hold bilateral meetings with leaders and presidents of OIC Member States and officials of regional and international organizations. CTD team kills three terrorists in Khyber district

Islamabad, September 17, 2022 (PPI-OT): Three terrorists of the banned outfit were killed in an encounter with a special team of Counter Terrorism Department in Khyber district on Saturday. The terrorists opened fire at CTD team as it came close to their hideout. In retaliatory fire, three terrorists identified as Zakarullah alias Huzaifa, Mursalla Khan Alias Qari and one unknown were killed. PM arrives in UK to attend State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II

Over 3.4mln flood-hit children in Pakistan need immediate support: UNICEF

Islamabad, September 17, 2022 (PPI-OT): United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund has issued an alert that three point four million children in Pakistan need ‘immediate, lifesaving support’ in the wake of severe floods. According to the UNICEF, floods have impacted 16 million children in total in Pakistan. UNICEF’s official said the situation on the ground in Sindh was “beyond bleak” with many malnourished children battling diseases like diarrhea, malaria and dengue fever, as well as painful skin conditions. Chief of the naval staff visits flood affected areas of Sujawal

11 Districts In Three Days: CM Sindh Inspects Progress And Issues

Karachi, September 17, 2022 (PPI-OT): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on his last leg visit to 11 districts of three divisions within three days decided to dispose of rainwater in Matiari, Nawabshah, and Sanghar districts into Rohri Canal for which Markh Wah and other drains would be used. The Chief Minister at Rohri Canal at Matiari districts held a meeting with Minister Irrigation Jam Khan Shoro, Minister Revenue Makhdoom Mahboob and Irrigation experts at Khor Wah decided that the water inundating more than 100 small and big villages of four union councils of New Saeedabad would be disposed of through Markh Wah/distributary but for that purpose, a small channel from Khor Wah to Rohri Canal would be burrowed to connect them.
