Peaceful, prosperous Afghanistan priority for Pakistan: FM

Islamabad: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has stressed that a peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan is a priority for Pakistan. Talking to the US Special Representative for Afghanistan Thomas West who called on him in New York, he emphasized the significance of continuing international engagement with the interim Afghan government for lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan and beyond. The US Special Representative appreciated Pakistan's efforts for peace and stability in Afghanistan and in facilitation of evacuations. The two sides acknowledged the need for continued cooperation on the shared objectives of sustained efforts and engagement of the international community to alleviate sufferings of the Afghan people and promote regional peace and stability.

DC Dadu dodges flood victims’ wrath

Dadu: The flood victims of Khairpur Nathan Shah lashed out at Deputy Commissioner over his visit to the flood-hit areas, surrounded him and questioned his negligence at the time of the tragedy, late Monday on Tuesday. Actress Angelina Jolie visits flood-hit Dadu

Dadu: International humanitarian and Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie reached flood-hit Dadu in Pakistan’s Sindh province on Tuesday and met with affectees. The Hollywood actress travelled to Dadu in a helicopter where on the ground she was escorted by heavy security. The actress also used a boat to witness and gain understanding of the destruction unleashed by the devastating floods. She also heard from the women affected directly about their needs, and about steps to prevent such suffering in the future. Planning Minister announces to launch ‘Adopt a District’ program

Islamabad: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has announced to launch 'Adopt a District' program with the cooperation of provincial governments to lend a helping hand to the districts worst affected by the catastrophic flooding. OGDCL discovers gas condensate at Tolanj West-2 development well in Kohat

Islamabad: The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has discovered gas condensate at Tolanj West-2 development well in Kohat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to details, the well at Lockhart formation was spudded in on April 10. The target site was tested successfully at the rate of eight point three million standard cubic feet per day gas and thirty-four barrels per day of condensate. An official of the Oil and Gas Company said this discovery will help and contribute towards improving the energy security of the country from indigenous resources.
