Azam Nazeer Tarar assumes charge as Law Minister

ISLAMABAD: Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar assumed charge as law minister here in Islamabad on Wednesday. Senior officials of the Ministry of Law and Justice welcomed him in the office. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday appointed Azam Nazeer Tarar as law minister. Azam Nazeer Tarar had submitted his resignation to the Prime Minister a month ago, however, the Prime Minister rejected his resignation on Tuesday. PM condemns explosion in Baleli area of Balochistan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the explosion that took place near a police vehicle deployed for the security of polio team in Baleli area of Balochistan on Wednesday reportedly killing three individuals, including a police officer and two civilians. In a statement on Wednesday, he directed investigation into the incident. He also directed to provide best possible medical treatment to those injured. Decision about two provincial assemblies within week: Sheikh Rashid

RAWALPINDI: Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid said on Wednesday that a decision would be taken about the two provincial assemblies (Punjab and KP) within one week. Three killed, 28 injured in Quetta suicide blast

QUETTA: Three people were killed and 30 others, including 20 cops, injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up near a truck carrying police officers for protection of polio workers near Quetta Wednesday. According to police, the bomber rammed his vehicle into the police truck and detonated the explosives following which the police truck fell into a gorge. As a result, three people, including a polio worker, were killed and 30 others injured. Among the injured were 20 Balochistan constabulary cops. A four-year old girl and a woman were among the civilian casualties. The explosion damaged a police truck and two other vehicles damaged. The injured were rushed to the nearby hospitals.
