Sindh Governor calls on Zardari

KARACHI:Governor Sindh Karman Khan Tessori Friday called on former President Asif Ali Zardari at Bilawal House.   He enquired about the health of former President. Overall political situation of the country, problems confronted by the province, measures for rehabilitation of flood affectees and development projects of Karachi were discussed in detail on the occasion.   Kamran apprised the People's Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari about the problems faced by the province and measures for the rehabilitation of the flood survivors. They discussed the development projects of Karachi. Zardari expressed best wishes for Governor Sindh, according to a statement.

Zahra Baloch appointed as Foreign Office spokesperson

ISLAMABAD:The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Friday appointed senior diplomat Mumtaz Zahra Baloch as Spokesperson for the Foreign Office.   Ms Zahra is serving as Additional Secretary (Asia and Pacific) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Saima Sayed was appointed as Deputy Spokesperson for the Foreign Office. Ms Saima is serving as Director General (Strategic Communication Division) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.   The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also issued a notification for the appointment of Spokesperson and Deputy Spokesperson for the Foreign Office. Earlier, it was reported that the names of three senior officers were being considered for the appointment of one of them as the spokesperson for the Foreign Office.

OGDCL distributes winter relief packages among flood victims

KARACHI:Being a responsible corporate entity, the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) said Friday that it had distributed 1500 winter packages among the flood-affected people in the flood-hit areas of Southern Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan.   OGDCL under its Corporate Responsibility Program (CSR) has scaled up the distribution of winter packages among flood victims as the winter season has started in the country. SBP introduces Forum for identification of unauthorized Forex activities
