PPF organizes workshop on Monitoring and Reporting Attacks on Journalists

ISLAMABAD: PPF organized a workshop on Monitoring and Reporting Attacks on Journalists to reduce the rate of impunity for crimes against journalists in the capital territory, Islamabad. Implementation of the "Protection of Journalists and Media Professionals Act, 2021" and the formation of commission required under the Act was stressed during the two-day workshop organized by the Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF) on 12 and 13 November 2022. The role of journalist unions and unity among the unions were also stressed during the workshop. Six coalminers kidnapped near Bolan

District
Bolan: Some unknown armed persons kidnapped six coalminers from Machh area of district Bolan, police said on Sunday. According to police, the labourers working in three lease coalmines in Machh were going to their homes when some unidentified armed men intercepted and kidnapped them in the late night. The kidnapped miners were identified as Sartaj, Rozimand, Barkat, Faram Uddin, Aman Ullah, and Jamal Khan. The companions of the coalminers informed the police about their snatching. Police said that they visited the coalmines where the labourers were working. They said that a CTD team from Jafarabd would help them find the kidnapped miners. They said that four of the abducted colliers belonged to Shangla, and one each from Machh and Qila Abdullah.

ANF recovers drugs, weapons from criminals

QUETTA: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Sunday continued its operations against drug smuggling across the country and recovered drugs and weapons from the criminals. In Quetta, 24 kilograms of hashish, one pistol and two magazines were recovered from an accused, a resident of Pishin. Another ANF team recovered 120 grams of ice drug from a resident of Bahria Town, Phase 7, Rawalpindi. The ANF and the Airport Security Force (ASF) recovered 620 grams of hashish from the bag of an accused of Bannu at Lahore International Airport. The accused was going to Sharjah through PK412 flight. Moreover, 37.18 kilograms of hashish in plastic bags were recovered from Kohat and Khyber areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
