President vows to completely wipe out menace of terrorism

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to completely wipe out the menace of terrorism. In a statement on Thursday, he said our efforts will continue till the elimination of remnant elements. The President strongly denounced the firing of terrorists in Bajaur. He paid tributes to the valiance of martyred security personnel. The President said those rendering sacrifices are an asset of this nation. Commiserating with the bereaved families, he prayed for the higher ranks of martyrs.

Bid to smuggle 50kg hashish foiled near Killa Saifullah

KILLA SAIFULLAH: Killa Saifullah police claimed to have foiled a bid to smuggle 50 kilograms of hashish and arrested a key member of an inter provincial gang of smugglers in an operation in Killa Saifullah area of Balochistan province on Thursday. Following the directions of Inspector General of Police Balochistan Abdul Khaliq Sheikh and SP Manzoor Ahmed Buledi, the police team recovered 50kg hashish from the hidden cavities of a truck in the operation in Killa Saifullah. Key member of an inter provincial gang of smugglers namely Muhammad Qasim was also arrested during the operation. Man lynched over suspicion of kidnapping child in Karachi

KARACHI: A man was lynched in Hawkes Bay area of Karachi for allegedly kidnapping a child on Thursday. According to police, the incident took place in Hawkes Bay near Abdul Rehman Goth. The accused threw stones at people which left a youth injured. They threw the stones back at him in retaliation which caused his death. The deceased was identified as Hatim. A four years old child was also injured in the incident. The police arrested a person named Sher Khan alias Shero for being involved in throwing stones at the deceased. Search for others involved in the incident was underway. A man had submitted a complaint to police about the abduction of his child. Minor girl raped in Shahdadkot

SHAHDADKOT: A seven-year-old minor girl was allegedly raped in Sabzi Mandi area of Shahdadkot on Thursday. The father of the girl filed a complaint of the incident in A Section Police Station. According to father Sanaullah, accused Abdul Ghafoor Magsi raped his daughter Fatima, aged seven after luring her with some candies. A complete medical examination of the raped girl has been conducted in Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. The case will be registered after receiving the medical report, said the police.

Senior, U19 City Cricket Association trials begins March 20 in Sindh, Balochistan

KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board on Wednesday announced the schedule for the senior and U19 City Cricket Association trials in Balochistan and Sindh. The trials will commence from March 20 and will be conducted by the Cricket Association coaches and appointed members of the junior selection committee. The players are required to report for the trials at 8am in white-coloured clothing. The trials will run from 9am till 6pm. Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi Thursday started the release of relief money for more than 55,000 flood victims. While addressing the ceremony of distributing relief funds to the flood victims, the CM said that he was also given an opportunity by Allah Almighty and he delivered but did not beat the drum like Shehbaz Sharif.
