Info Minister expresses deep grief, sorrow over death of comedian Tariq Teddy

ISLAMABAD: Popular commercial theatre comedian Tariq Teddy passed away in Lahore on Saturday after prolonged illness. Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of famous comedian Tariq Teddy. In a statement, she said Tariq Teddi played brilliant roles in stage plays and Punjabi films and brought smiles to people's faces with his humour and artistry. Paying tribute to the late actor, the Minister said he left his fans sad today but he will always be remembered for his exemplary contribution in the field of art. Pakistan, Dominican Republic formally establish diplomatic ties

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the Dominican Republic have formally established diplomatic relations. A joint communique was signed in this regard by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Munir Akram and his Dominican Republic counterpart, Jose Blanco, in New York. BISP will soon launch survey to register more flood-affected families: SAPM)

ISLAMABAD: Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) will soon launch a dynamic survey to register more deserving families affected recently by the devastating floods. This was stated by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Faisal Karim Kundi at a news conference here in Islamabad on Saturday. He said a Memorandum of Understanding in this regard has been signed with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). The Special Assistant said at present the beneficiaries of BISP stand at 8.2 million which are estimated to rise to around nine million after this survey. Dadu court inducts two MPAs in triple murder case

DADU: Dadu's Model trial court on Saturday inducted two MPAs in a triple murder case. Nominated accused pleaded not guilty after charges framed in the case against them. Complainant of the case Umme Rubab Chandio and accused MPAs Sardar Ahmed Chandio and Burhan Chandio were present during the court hearing. The court summoned witnesses in the next hearing of the case. “We have recorded our statement in the court,” accused MPA Sardar Chandio said. “Charges have been framed against the killers including two MPAs of the People’s Party,” complainant Umme Rubab said.
