ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Nepal to Pakistan Tapas Adhikari called on Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) for Foreign Affairs, Syed Tariq Fatemi here in Islamabad on Monday. During the meeting, they discussed mutual cooperation between the two countries and the evolution of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) as a vibrant organization promoting better understanding among the member states.

NDMA conducts review session on Covid situation

ISLAMABAD: National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Monday held a review session with a team of National Institute of Health (NIH) and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Covid situation and surveillance mechanisms at airports in the wake of the threat posed by the new BF.7 Omicron variant of Covid-19. Chairman NDMA, Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik presided the session. NIH showed detailed statistics on COVID management and vaccination administration data in Pakistan. IHC accepts for hearing govt, ECP’s intra-court appeals against LG polls verdict

ISLAMABAD: A division bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday accepted for regular hearing the government and the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) intra-court appeals against the single-bench verdict of holding local government (LG) elections in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) on December 30, last year. The court dismissed the ECP’s plea to suspend the IHC single bench’s verdict. The division bench comprising IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz will now hear the intra-court appeals on January 9.
