ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday directed to ensure on an emergency basis one hundred percent anti COVID-19 vaccination of children aged five to twelve. Chairing a meeting regarding COVID-19 situation in the country, the Prime Minister said screening of people at the country's borders and airports should be made more effective. He said a third party audit of the screening system should be carried out and a report be submitted to him. ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Tuesday said the defunct organization of Tehreek-e-Taliban is operating from Afghan soil to spread terrorism in parts of Pakistan. Talking to a private television channel, he said Pakistan has asked the interim Afghan government to respect Doha agreement, and it has promised to control the terrorist activity from its soil. The Defence Minister said the government had opened doors for talks with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) but there was no progress in this regard. Replying to a question, he said there is no network of TTP in Pakistan but it is operating from Afghan soil.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Malaysia have reaffirmed the commitment to further strengthen their historic ties anchored in strong economic and trade cooperation. ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the National Security Committee (NSC) at its meeting on Monday took some major decisions after hours long deliberations with regards to security and economic situation. In a tweet on Tuesday, he said the state of Pakistan will adopt zero tolerance policy for terrorists challenging its writ. Peace is non-negotiable. ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday allowed the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to continue its proceedings against former Prime Minister Imran Khan and other Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders- Asad Umar and Fawad Chaudhry, in the cases related to the contempt of the ECP. Disposing of the ECP’s petition, a three-member Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Ayesha A Malik, held that the proceedings initiated by the ECP under Section 10 of the Election Act, 2017, against the respondents “have been allowed to continue”. “But ECP has been hereby restrained from passing final orders under the said section,” a seven-page court order stated.
