Death anniversary of Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar observed

ISLAMABAD: The 92nd death anniversary of dynamic national political leader, educationist, journalist and a poet Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar was observed on Wednesday. He was born on 10th December 1878. Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar was a very strong supporter of a separate homeland Pakistan. He also played a leading role in Khilafat Movement. He launched his famous English weekly “Comrade” from Calcutta in 1911 and his Urdu weekly “Hamdard” from Delhi in 1913. He died in London on this day in 1931, and was buried in Jerusalem according to his wish.

Int’l Conference on Climate Resilient Pakistan being held in Geneva on Monday next

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will present Resilient, Recovery, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Framework before the International Conference on Climate Resilient Pakistan being held in Geneva on Monday next. A senior official of foreign office in an informal interaction with the media persons in Islamabad on Wednesday stated that Pakistan and the UN are jointly hosting the moot. He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will open it. The foreign office official was confident that the international community will express solidarity with Pakistan for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of flood affected areas. Death anniversary of poet, lyricist Tufail Hoshiarpuri observed

ISLAMABAD: The 30th death anniversary of renowned poet and lyricist Tufail Hoshiarpuri was observed on Wednesday. His real name was Mohammad Tufail. He was born on July 14, 1914 in Hoshiarpur, British India. Tufail Hoshiarpuri was an activist in Pakistan Movement and read patriotic poems in Muslim League’s gatherings. After partition, he migrated to Lahore and joined Radio Pakistan Lahore in 1952. His famous patriotic song was ‘Ai Mard e Mujahid Jaag Zara’. He was awarded Pride of Performance. Tufail Hoshiarpuri died on this day in 1993.
