Quetta, other aras receive rains and heavy snowfall

Quetta: Quetta and other aras of Balochistan have received rains and heavy snowfall, according to a report on Wednesday. According to the Meteorological Department, Quetta, Pishin, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Mastung, Nushki, and Dalbandin received heavy rain. There was also a heavy snowfall in Quetta, Ziarat, Khanozai, Kahan, Mehtarzai, Kaushik, and Toba. People are facing difficulties as the snowfall has blocked several roads for traffic. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has delivered the machinery to deal with any emergency situation in the snow affected areas. Five muggers arrested, man killed in Karachi incidents

Karachi: Five alleged robbers were arrested in three police encounters in the provincial capital while a man was killed during a robbery in different incident in Karachi on Wednesday. According to police, three robbers were injured in crossfire with the police in Ittehad Town’s Gulshan Gazi area. Police claimed the arrested suspects have committed more than 200 acts of robbery and street crime. In another encounter, police managed to arrest an injured robber in Shah Faisal Colony. While another robber was taken into custody in injured condition near Shah Latif Azeem Hotel. The injured suspects were shifted to different hospitals. Islamabad: Adviser to Prime Minister on Kashmir Affairs Qamar Zaman Kaira on Wednesday said Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has no desire to dissolve assemblies in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. Talking to a private television channel, he said the PTI government in Punjab did not have required numbers to protect Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi. Qamar Zaman Kaira said PTI is blaming its partners in the Punjab assembly over corruption issues. In reply to a question about early elections, he said there is no harm in the elections before time as demanded by Imran Khan. However, he said, we will not accept any condition imposed by Imran Khan on elections.

PM embarks on two-day official visit to UAE tomorrow

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will embark on a two-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) tomorrow (Thursday). He will be visiting the UAE on the invitation of President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. According to Foreign Office, the Prime Minister will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including key members of the cabinet. This would be the Prime Minister's third visit to the UAE after assuming office.
