Islamabad, April 01, 2019 (PPI-OT): 2nd meeting of the Standing Committee on Postal Services was held today under the Chairmanship of Haji Imtiaz Ahmed Choudhary, MNA. The meeting started with recitation from the Holy Quran. After brief introduction of participants the Committee decided to proceed with the agenda.
The Dy. Director General, Pakistan Postal, presented overview of the Ministry and Pakistan Post afterwards, the Secretary Ministry of Postal Services and Director General, Pakistan Post briefed about functions, performance, and challenges faced by Postal Services. He further informed the Committee about the recent initiatives/achievements of the Pakistan Post, including same day delivery, electronic money order (Home Delivery), mobile App, AMS Plus, E-Commerce Initiatives and partnership with NADRA. Comparison between revenue from July-February, 2017-18 and July-February, 2018-19 was placed before the Committee. He also briefed about the future projects.
He informed the Committee that the Postal Services provide domestic as well as international postal and allied services to the people of Pakistan at an affordable cost. He informed the Committee about the detail of total sanctioned strength, Regular employees, part-time employees, shortfall of staff and operational vehicles.

Shoukat Ali Bhatti, Raja Riaz Ahmad, Malik Karamat Ali Khokhar, Mr. Tahir Iqbal, Mr. Niaz Ahmed Jakhar, Ms. Asma Hameed, Mst, Shaheen Naz Saifullah, Ms. Rukhsana Naveed, Ms. Munawara Bibi Baloch, Syed Javed Husnain, Ms. Romina Khursheed Alam, Ms. Ayesha Rajab Ali, Nawabzada Iftikhar Ahmed Khan Babar, Syed Abrar Ali Shah, Mr. Naveed Aamir Jeeva, Mr. Muhammad Anwar, attended the meeting besides the senior officers from the Ministry of Postal Services and its attach department along with their staff.
