360 shelters for flood affectees soon

Karachi: Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Sindh Provincial Branch is continuously providing relief to most vulnerable flood affected people in Sindh Province by proving shelters, clean water, livelihood, food and emergency healthcare, said Syed Shafqat Ali, Shelter Manager.

He said that PRCS, Sindh Branch with the support of International Federation of Red Cross Red Crescent Societies (IFRC has started the construction of 360 shelters out of 5000 one-room shelters with washroom in districts of Shikarpur and Kambar-Shadadkot which will be completed soon.

The construction of further 410 shelters will start in the month of March 2012. Red Crescent also has distributed shelter tool kits to 360 beneficiaries and provide them safe shelter training. These shelters are constructing according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA guidelines for Shelter Structure.
