Islamabad, February 06, 2018 (PPI-OT): The 36th meeting of the Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development was held under the Chairmanship of Mir Aamir Ali Khan Magsi, MNA. The meeting was started with the recitation from the Holy Quran and proceeded with given Agenda. The Committee unanimously confirmed the minutes of its 35th meeting held on 4th January, 2018.
The Committee unanimously approved the Emigration (Amendment) Bill, 2017 (moved by Dr, Shazia Sobia, MNA) with some amendments. The Migrant Resource Center was established in collaboration with ILO in October, 2015 and providing counselling services, pre-departure orientation to migrants and arranging orientation session on safe and informed migration. Pakistan is a member of ILO since 1947, Pakistan signed 8 Fundamental Conventions and also ratified 36 ILO conventions.
400 refund payments had been made to the affectees of Al-Watan Scheme for Overseas Pakistanis in Eastern Industrial Zone of Port Qasim Authority. The Honourable MNA/Members Mrs. Suraiya Jatoi, Mian Najeebuddin Awaisi, Ms. Aliya Kamran, Ms. Sabiha Nazir, Ch. Muhammad Munir Azhar, Malik Muhammad Uzair Khan, Ms. Musarat Rafique Mahesar, Ms. Shagufta Jumani, Sardar Kamal Khan Bangulzai, Mr. Nasir Khan, Ms. Aisha, Dr. Shazia Sobia mover of the Bill, and Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development attended the meeting. The senior officers from the Ministry of Overseas were also attended the meeting.
