Police officials said on June 22 that the district administration has banned the entry of 37 religious speakers in Jhang during Muharram and barred 13 others from delivering speeches during Muharram. This step has been taken to prevent provocative activities.
The entry ban has been imposed on 13 Shia, 18 Deobandi, and six Barelvi scholars. Also, three Shia, seven Deobandi, and three Barelvi scholars belonging to Jhang have been barred from speeches.
