LARKANA: A woman died in a private medical centre here on Monday allegedly due to negligence of the lady doctor.

The heirs of the deceased woman, , Jamila wife of Shakil Soomro, brought her body in an ambulance in front of the press club and held a protest demonstration demanding action against the lady doctor.

Zulfiqar Soomro, her mother Hafeezan, brothers Sadam, Wajid, Altaf and others alleged that their sister was eight months pregnant. They said that after developing complaints last night, they brought her from Ratodero to a lady doctor at Lahori muhalla at 6am and she charged us Rs5000 and admitted her at her private medical centre located near civil hospital. They further alleged that her employees asked us to arrange five blood pints which we did but neither the blood pints were transfused nor the lady doctor arrived due to which their sister died.

They urged the higher Sindh health department authorities to keep a vigilant eye over private medical centres across the province where poor people continue to die daily without any check despite huge charges which are never investigated and punished but the doctors are earning millions monthly. They further demanded registration of a case against the negligence to dispense justice.
