80% lockdown observed in Naundero

March 26, 2020

NAUNDERO: On the order of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, people of Naundero observed 80% lockdown on Thursday.

The local police conducted patrolling across the city, but about 20% people, mostly coming from villages surrounding the city, did not care of the lockdown. The bazaars and shopping centers wore a deserted. Poor pushcart vendors were also seen doing their daily business without essential masks and other preventive measures to earn livelihood. Even residents of nearby villages were seen shopping in the town.

There is no case of coronavirus in the town. However, a six-bedded coronavirus centre has been set up at Rural Health Centre being managed by Integrated Health Services (IHS). There is need to tighten lockdown by 100 percent by deploying more security forces. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah last Sunday announced a full lockdown throughout the province for the next 15 days in order to control the spread of coronavirus.

A govt notification said that there shall be a complete ban on movement of people including Intercity or Interprovincial travel or gatherings of any kind for social, religious, or any other purpose at any place, public or private, including all offices, public or private situated within the territorial limits of province of Sindh.
