Key figures from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan (TTAP) gathered at the residence of PTI Sindh Vice President Mohsin Ghum in Hyderabad to address pressing regional issues including Sindh’s water issue.
According to PTI information, PTI leaders, including General Secretary Barrister Salman Akram Raja, former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, and PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh, among others, met with local PTI leaders and workers. They discussed the challenges faced by Sindh and shared their commitment to resolving the water crisis that affects the province.
During a media interaction, Salman Akram Raja emphasized the nationwide nature of PTI’s politics and pointed out the continuous struggle of the poor across Pakistan. He criticized the current governance for failing to protect water rights in Sindh, highlighting the Indus River’s critical importance to the region.
Raja stressed PTI’s dedication to safeguarding every drop of Sindh’s water and fighting for constitutional rights nationwide. He noted an alarming increase in authoritarianism, mentioning economic and social challenges in Balochistan and other regions.
Asad Qaiser brought a message of unity and support for Sindh’s people, addressing the severe water shortage and criticizing the ruling party’s role in the crisis. He urged stakeholders to prioritize national integrity over personal interests.
Sardar Latif Khosa condemned recent police misconduct in Hyderabad and criticized the weakening of the judiciary through constitutional amendments. He expressed solidarity with the legal community and decried the suppression of free expression.
Sheikh welcomed TTAP leaders to Sindh, emphasizing the need for collective action to counter authoritarianism and protect the province’s agricultural interests, which hinge on the Indus River’s water supply.
The gathering underscored PTI’s commitment to addressing Sindh’s issues and called for a united effort to safeguard Pakistan’s democratic values and resources.
