Quetta Residents Swelter as Power Outages Persist During Heatwave

A relentless heatwave coupled with announced and unannounced loadshedding intensified the struggles of Quetta’s citizens today, with power outages lasting up to 14 hours a day in urban areas.

Commercial zones in the provincial capital endure 6 to 8 hours without electricity, while residents in interior Balochistan face even longer outages, spanning 16 to 18 hours daily. Frustration among the populace grows, as they contend with limited electricity during the sweltering conditions.

Locals have voiced demands for the government to alleviate the power cuts, particularly during the summer months, to ensure a more bearable environment.
