Insha’Allah, We Will Make Sukkur a Better City in the Next 5 Years: Barrister Arsalan Islam Sheikh

Sindh government spokesperson and Sukkur Mayor Barrister Arsalan Islam Sheikh has promised a path of transformation for the city, including ambitious plans to improve Sukkur’s cleanliness and infrastructure over the next five years.

Speaking to the media at the Pakistan Waste Management Camp, Mayor Arsalan Islam Sheikh highlighted the deployment of over 250 staff for cleaning and waste collection. More than 15,000 shopping bags have been distributed for the proper disposal of animal waste, and 11 collection camps have been set up to manage cleanliness during the Eid festival. The mayor reported that over 1,200 waste items have already been collected from various locations.

Barrister Sheikh appealed to residents to responsibly dispose of animal waste using the provided bags, emphasizing the importance of public cooperation. He instructed citizens to sprinkle lime at slaughter sites to eliminate harmful germs, stressing that maintaining cleanliness is an essential element of faith and a shared responsibility.

As a significant step towards urban development, Mayor Sheikh announced the approval of a Safe City Project for Sukkur. Additionally, a dedicated cattle colony has been completed, with plans to relocate livestock outside the urban area to reduce pollution and congestion.

The mayor reiterated his commitment to a clean Sukkur, confirming that these initiatives are just the beginning of a broader effort to improve the quality of life and urban management in the city.
