The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is gearing up for a major auction of commercial plots and shops from July 15-17, 2025, as part of a broader initiative to enhance sports, hospitality, and tourism in Islamabad. Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, chaired a high-level meeting at CDA headquarters to finalize arrangements for the auction and discuss ongoing and future development projects.
The auction will feature approximately 46 commercial plots and shops in Blue Area’s Parking Plaza, along with other prime commercial properties across various categories. The CDA is committed to providing maximum support to investors, including setting up information counters and booths to provide comprehensive details about the auction process.
The meeting also addressed several key projects aimed at boosting tourism and recreational activities. These endeavors include the Gandhara Heritage and Citizen Center, hotel plots, a Theme Park, Melody Food Street, Lake-view Park, and various other investment opportunities. The CDA also plans to develop Saidpur Village, Melody food kiosks, digital parking, digital screens, and food courts in the Diplomatic Enclave.
In line with directives from Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi, the CDA has allocated space for 25 football grounds and 25 cricket grounds, with work to commence in phases. Additionally, three futsal grounds, one indoor cricket ground, and five cricket academies are being established. The authority is also finalizing locations for sports complexes featuring swimming pools, gyms, indoor games, and coffee shops to cater to families.
Chairman CDA emphasized the authority”s dedication to timely completion of these ventures, aiming to transform Islamabad into a modern city with world-class tourism and recreational amenities. The CDA believes these initiatives will establish Islamabad as a global hub for hospitality, sports, and tourism.
