The Pakistani Rupee (PKR) continued its downward trend against major international currencies, raising concerns about the country’s economic stability. The PKR closed at 287.50 against the US dollar, weakening further from the previous day’s 286.35.
The Euro also saw gains against the Pakistani currency, rising from 335.68 to 338.65. Similarly, the British Pound solidified its position, climbing from 390.07 to 393.53.
The Japanese Yen saw a slight increase against the Rupee, moving from 1.92 to 1.97. Regional currencies, including the UAE Dirham and the Saudi Riyal, also closed higher against the PKR at 78.91 and 76.98 respectively, compared to the previous day’s 78.21 and 76.43.
In interbank trading, the Rupee saw marginal movement, closing at 284.65 against the dollar, compared to 284.45. The continued depreciation of the local currency is raising concerns about its potential impact on the Pakistani economy.
