Karachi Mayor Takes To Motorcycle, Addresses Citizen Concerns, Launches Road Projects

Karachi Mayor, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, took a hands-on approach to understanding citizen concerns today, touring various areas of Karachi’s Central District by motorcycle.

His tour included New Karachi and Khwaja Ajmeer Nagar, where he inspected ongoing and newly launched road improvement projects. In New Karachi’s 5-D, UC 4, Wahab initiated the pure block installation project for internal streets. He received a briefing from the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s (KMC) Engineering Department on current development schemes. Later, in Khwaja Ajmeer Nagar, the mayor paused his motorcycle journey to share tea with residents at a local stall, listening to their grievances and assuring them of prompt action.

Wahab explained his motorcycle tour was intended to gain firsthand experience of the challenges faced by the populace. He highlighted the importance of these road upgrades, stating that the pure block installation and roadwork in Khwaja Ajmeer Nagar would substantially enhance local transportation, addressing long-neglected thoroughfares.

The mayor”s itinerary also included Haji Mureed Goth in Nazimabad Town, where he was greeted by community members. Here, the KMC had recently finished installing pure blocks in Union Council 6, Firdous Colony, markedly upgrading the neighborhood”s streets.

Though Nazimabad Town was officially responsible for Haji Mureed Goth’s development, KMC stepped in to fix the deteriorated streets, utilizing pure blocks for reconstruction. The residents expressed their appreciation for the mayor”s intervention and the resulting enhancements.

These initiatives are part of the KMC”s broader strategy to improve infrastructure and enhance the living standards of Karachi”s citizens.
