Hot Weather to Persist Across Balochistan

The Pakistan Meteorological Department Quetta Regional Centre on Wednesday issued a synoptic situation report, stating: ‘Continental air is prevailing over most parts of Balochistan. An upper-level ridge (high pressure) is affecting the southern parts of the province. Some moist currents from the Arabian Sea are penetrating the southern parts.’

The Meteorological Department’s Quetta Regional Centre forecast that hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of Balochistan, while very hot weather and hot winds (loo) are likely in Kech, Sohbatpur, Usta Muhammad, Jhal Magsi, Jaffarabad, Naseerabad, Sibi, Dera Bugti, Washuk, Chaghi, Turbat, the plain areas of Kachhi, and parts of Awaran, Lasbela, Hub, and Gwadar districts. Meanwhile, hot and humid weather is expected in coastal areas. Warm nights may also be experienced in Chaghi, Washuk, Kech, Sibi, and Usta Muhammad districts and surrounding areas.

Partly cloudy weather is expected in northern parts of the province, while thunderstorms and light rain are likely in Barkhan and Khuzdar districts and adjoining areas during the afternoon. Occasionally, strong gusty and dust-raising winds may prevail over most parts of the province during the next 24 hours.

According to the weather forecast for the next 48 hours, hot and dry weather is expected to continue in most parts of Balochistan, while very hot weather and hot winds (loo) are likely in Kech, Sohbatpur, Usta Muhammad, Jhal Magsi, Jaffarabad, Naseerabad, Sibi, Dera Bugti, Washuk, Chaghi, Turbat, the plain areas of Kachhi, and parts of Awaran, Lasbela, Hub, and Gwadar districts. Hot and humid weather is expected in coastal areas, while warm nights may persist in Chaghi, Washuk, Kech, Sibi, and Usta Muhammad districts and surrounding areas. Occasionally, strong gusty and dust-raising winds may prevail over most parts of the province during the next 48 hours.

Weather recorded during the last 24 hours showed no rainfall across the province. Maximum temperatures recorded were: Turbat 46.5°C, Lasbela 45.5°C, Usta Muhammad 45.5°C, Sibi 45.0°C, Gwadar 45.0°C, Uthal 43.0°C, Jiwani 41.5°C, Pasni 41.5°C, Dalbandin 41.0°C, Nokkundi 41.0°C, Khuzdar 40.0°C, Panjgur 39.0°C, Noshki 37.6°C, Barkhan 37.0°C, Ormara 37.0°C, Zhob 35.0°C, Quetta City 34.0°C, Quetta RMC 33.3°C, Samungli 32.5°C, Sariab 32.5°C, Kalat 30.0°C, and Ziarat 24.3°C.
