Meeting between Governor Sindh and German Consul General, emphasis on promotion of trade, investment, and industrial cooperation

of Sindh, Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi highlighted the potential to strengthen the economic partnership between Pakistan and Germany through trade, investment, and industrial cooperation. This was stated during an important meeting with the German Consul General, Thomas E. Schultze, at the Governor’s House today.

Sindh is considered an important province for investment and industry in Pakistan, and can offer vast opportunities for German investors. Highlighting the significance of the province, the Governor reiterated the government’s commitment to providing full support to foreign investors.

German Consul General Schultze expressed keen interest in developmental projects and trade prospects in Sindh. Recognizing the strong demand for Pakistani textiles, leather products, surgical instruments, and sports goods in Germany, he mentioned that Germany imports approximately 28 million footballs from Pakistan each year. This growing demand has boosted trade between the two countries to 3.8 billion euros, with further growth potential.

Furthermore, Schultze announced the German government’s initiative to upgrade the Goethe-Institut in Karachi with state-of-the-art technology, which will strengthen cultural and educational relations.
