Karachi’s healthcare infrastructure is strong, offering the most healthcare facilities across Pakistan. Memon stated that patients from all over the country turn to Karachi for free medical treatment. Furthermore, Gambat’s GIMS Hospital provides excellent services at no cost.
The condition of roads under federal supervision in Sindh remains a concern. In contrast, the provincial government has made efforts to upgrade the road network throughout the region, with further improvements ongoing. Memon also highlighted the world’s largest housing project, which will provide homes for 2.1 million people in Sindh, demonstrating the government’s commitment to meeting housing needs.
Investment in coal in Thar has reached one billion dollars, enabling the production of affordable electricity that benefits the entire country. Efforts to reduce Karachi’s notorious traffic jams include the construction of terminals on the Northern Bypass.
Karachi’s role as an employment hub is undeniable, attracting people from different regions of Pakistan seeking job opportunities. Memon emphasized the significant burden on the city to meet employment and healthcare needs while urging a more comprehensive comparison with other urban centers.
