Strict security measures have been implemented today in Punjab, especially at churches, for the protection of ongoing Christian prayer programs.
Inspector General of Punjab Police, Abdul Karim, has directed regional and district police officers as well as senior law enforcement officials to enhance security at places of worship and other sensitive locations. It is mandatory to ensure personal inspection of security arrangements.
Search and sweep operations are being carried out intensively around churches, Christian neighborhoods, and other areas considered sensitive. The aim is to preemptively address potential threats and maintain public safety during these religious gatherings.
The IG Punjab has also appealed to religious scholars, members of the Christian community, and peace committees to actively promote interfaith harmony. The purpose of this initiative is to foster a spirit of unity and understanding among different religious groups in the province.
These measures highlight the commitment of Punjab Police to safeguard the community and ensure the facilitation of peaceful religious observances.
