Jamaat-e-Islami’s membership campaign has become a nationwide public movement: Liaqat Baloch

Pakistan’s political landscape is witnessing a significant shift as Jamaat-e-Islami’s membership campaign is transforming into a nationwide public movement. This campaign, led by Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan’s Deputy Emir and former parliamentary leader Liaqat Baloch, is attempting to address the country’s worsening political and economic crises.

During a speech in Hyderabad today, Baloch criticized the role of the Pakistan People’s Party in Sindh’s deteriorating situation, accused landlords of subjugating the public, and blamed corrupt governance for the hardships faced by the people of Sindh.

Highlighting the country’s alarming condition, Baloch pointed to the ruling elite’s indifference to the struggles of ordinary citizens. The combination of rising inflation, increased prices, and burdensome taxes has intensified public distress. Additionally, ongoing political instability and institutional weaknesses have left many feeling insecure.

Jamaat-e-Islami is advocating for the supremacy of the Constitution, adherence to the rule of law, and the promotion of integrity in leadership. Baloch appealed to local leaders and members to intensify their efforts, encouraging them to spread the membership campaign to every street and household. By engaging with citizens, they intend to convey the party’s manifesto and effectively address community concerns.
