In a dramatic turn of events, a major confrontation with the Punjab Police’s Counter-Terrorism Department resulted in the death of three suspects involved in the assassination attempt on Pakistan Muslim League (N) MPA Colonel (Retired) Ayub Khan Gadhi.
The operation began under the leadership of Inspector Faryad Cheema in the jurisdiction of Police Station Rajana near Soneri Bungalow. Officers attempted to stop suspicious motorcyclists at a checkpoint, resulting in the suspects opening fire on the police.
In the chaos of the exchange of gunfire, three suspects were killed by bullets from their own accomplices. The deceased were identified as Imran, Sohail Afzal, and Ghulam Shabbir. However, other individuals managed to escape the scene and are still at large.
These suspects were involved in the previous attack on MPA Colonel Ayub Khan Gadhi’s residence, an incident that tragically resulted in the death of four people and left two others, including the MPA, critically injured. Police continue to search for those who escaped, to bring all involved to justice.
