In 2023, the crime rate in Islamabad decreased by 33%, marking a significant achievement under the leadership of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and the Islamabad Capital Police. The strategies implemented by the police administration not only reduced criminal activities but also provided a safer environment for the residents of the federal capital.

These strategies led to the resolution of over 5,000 criminal incidents across various police stations and the arrest of nearly 9,000 suspects. The crackdown on vehicle theft was particularly effective, resulting in the dismantling of 290 criminal groups and the recovery of hundreds of stolen vehicles.

In addition to law enforcement, the police also enhanced their community services. The Police Service Center served over 76,000 citizens, catering to the needs of both local and international visitors. There was also significant improvement in the internal structure of the police force, with a record number of officers being promoted.

The establishment of open courts by the DIG of Islamabad played a crucial role in maintaining transparency in the immediate resolution of public complaints. IGP Rizvi, while praising these achievements, emphasized the vital role of community policing in strengthening national stability and boosting public confidence in law enforcement agencies.
