AAC holds rally in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 21, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, a rally organized by the Awami Action Committee (AAC) was held at Mirwaiz Manzil Rajouri Kadal in Srinagar to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of its founding Chairman, Mirwaiz Molvi Mohammad Farooq.

The AAC Patron Mirwaiz Umar Farooq led the rally, which was attended by hundreds of party workers and activists, said a statement issued by AAC in Srinagar, the other day. The AAC workers reiterated the pledge that they would pursue the path shown by their visionary leader who throughout his life championed the cause of the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

During the rally, it was decided that after Zuhr prayers at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, today, a peaceful procession would be taken out from the grand mosque to the Martyrs’ Graveyard in Eidgah, Srinagar which would be led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. However, the authorities placed Mirwaiz under house arrest and imposed strict restrictions to prevent the rally.
