Aasiya Andrabi placed under house arrest in IOK

Srinagar, February 01, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities have placed the Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM), Aasiya Andrabi, under house arrest. A DeM spokesperson in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Indian police raided the residence of Aasiya Andrabi, last night, and tried to arrest her, despite the fact that she is suffering from various ailments. However, she said that the police bid was foiled by Fehmeeda Sofi, the associate of Aasiya Andrabi. Later, the authorities put the DeM Chairperson under house detention, she added.

The spokesperson denounced the house arrest of the party Chairperson and described it frustration of the authorities. Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL) has strongly condemned the arrest of party Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, and continued killing spree and crackdown operations by Indian troops in Islamabad, Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama districts.

The JKPL spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Mukhtar Ahmad Waza was released from illegal detention on Wednesday evening but was again arrested by the police and was lodged at Mattan Police station. He also expressed sympathy with the family of martyred youth, Musharraf Fayyaz of Shopian who succumbed to his injuries today at Soura hospital in Srinagar.
