Abbottabad clinches NBP Blind T-20 Trophy title

KARACHI:Abbottabad claimed the Grade-2 NBP Blind cricket trophy after defeating host city Karachi here on Friday at TMC Cricket Ground.

Both finalist teams were unbeaten in the group stage and showcased some stunning performances in all three departments. Karachi won the toss and elected to field first.

Abbottabad’s openers captain Riasat Khan and Naeem Ullah displayed a solid partnership of 179 for the first wicket. Naeem Ullah got out after scoring 79 whereas Riasat Khan stood with unbeaten 80 runs. Abbottabad put 186 on the board for the loss of three wickets.

Karachi in response started well but their key player Tahir Ali’s wicket and Wali Ullah getting retired hurt put them on back foot and could only score 149 for 4. Tahir Ali and Murad Ali were the top scorers with 28 and 27 respectively. Mohammad Adeel grabbed two wickets.
