National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah has said that the abrogation of Article 370 has not ended armed resistance in occupied Jammu and Kashmir; instead, it has reignited it.
According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking at an event in Srinagar, Abdullah questioned the BJP’s claim that the NC-Congress alliance will push IIOJK back into a dark era.
‘When Article 370 was abrogated, they claimed it would end armed resistance. But has it? Instead, militants have restarted their activities, and they (BJP) are responsible for it. How dare they accuse us?’ he asked.
The NC leader dismissed the BJP’s manifesto for the IIOJK Assembly election, calling it an ’empty promise.’ He said the BJP is trying to instil fear among the people and emphasized that Muslims have contributed equally to India’s freedom and opposed the vision of India that the BJP is trying to create.
