Islamabad Police apprehended an individual accused of sexual assault and robbery just 51 hours after the crime was reported. A foreign woman had approached the police a few days ago, reporting her ordeal where she was assaulted and robbed of her valuable belongings.
Upon receiving the complaint, the Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, swiftly initiated a high-level investigation. Under the leadership of DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, the team employed advanced technology and forensic evidence, including CCTV footage and geo-fencing, to locate the suspect.
The victim later identified the accused, expressing her gratitude for the prompt and effective action taken by the police, which she noted restored her hope for justice. Commending the police team’s performance, IGP Rizvi highlighted the professionalism and teamwork demonstrated by the officers.
He emphasized that safeguarding citizens’ lives and properties remains the top priority for the Islamabad Police, and assured that legal proceedings against the accused are progressing to ensure the maximum punishment is delivered. This case, he stated, serves as a strong deterrent against similar crimes.
