Adil distributes PPEs among doctors in Larkana

May 21, 2020

LARKANA:PTI leader Haleem Adil Shaikh suddenly reached here Thursday and distributed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) among the protesting members of Young Consultants Association.

While addressing newsmen at Civil Hospital, Shaikh said that he had brought PPEs after their protest on the direction of the prime minister and Sindh governor.

He said doctors were the frontline soldiers doing their jobs to save lives ignoring their own precious lives. He said the federal government had so far given two lakh safety kits through NDMA to Sindh. He said they were doing politics in assemblies but we were united over issue of doctors’ safety.

He said Larkana and Islamabad were equal for the prime minister, hence, they should take care of those who took their care. He said allowances given during war times should be given to doctors and paramedical staff and there shouldn’t be any politics.

Dr. Gulzar Tunio, General Secretary, Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Larkana Chapter, said on the occasion that work was being done in a better way than before in the hospitals. He said 22 bed ICU had been prepared where almost all facilities were available. Earlier, Haleem Shaikh handed over 2000 PPEs to the PMA leaders, 1000 masks and hand gloves.

However, when Shaikh reached Civil Hospital, leaders of Young Doctors Association, including its president Dr. Irshad Abro and others, boycotted and refused to give their comments when media contacted them as to why they were boycotting the proceedings. It must be remembered here that consultants have been protesting for PPEs provision to perform their duties at Chandka Hospital OPDs and so forth.
