KARACHI:Administrator Karachi, Sindh Government Spokesman and Law Advisor Sindh Barrister Murtaza Wahab attended the funeral prayer of Bilqees Edhi.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Sindh government has declared a day of mourning to pay homage to the services of Bilqees Edhi. He said that according to the will of Bilqees Edhi, she was buried in Mewa Shah cemetery.

In this regard, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporations ensured the provision of all possible services. The Administrator said that Bilqees Edhi has served humanity without any discrimination. Establishment of Bilqees Edhi Foundation for Women was her great achievement.

“Bilqees Edhi’s mission was to serve a humanity. She was valued for his social and welfare services throughout the country,” Barrister Murtaza Wahab said. The government of Pakistan had awarded Hilal Imtiaz in recognition of the services of Bilqees Edhi.

In connection with the preparation of grave in Mewa Shah Cemetery, Administrator Karachi has issued special instructions so that burial can be done as per her will. Ali Hassan Sajid, Senior Director Media Management supervised the entire process of burial on the directives of Administrator Karachi remained in constant touch with the bereaved family members.

Later, a wreath was laid on her grave by the Administrator Karachi. Senior Director Media Management Ali Hassan Sajid, Director Cemetery Iqbal Pervez and other officers were also present on the occasion. Administrator Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab prayed that Allah Almighty to grant Bilqees Edhi highest place in Jannat ul Firdaus and grant patience to her family.
