The Advisor to the Chief Minister of Balochistan for Sports and Youth Affairs, Ms Meena Majeed, visited the University of Turbat (UoT) on Sunday, as per a statement issued by the university’s spokesman.
During her visit, Ms Majeed held a meeting with the Vice Chancellor of UoT, Prof Dr Gul Hasan, and engaged in a productive discussion with deans, directors, and department heads from both academic and administrative sections.
Prof Dr Gul Hasan briefed the Advisor about the university’s financial challenges and lack of essential facilities, highlighting the need for support to overcome these obstacles and improve academic and extracurricular activities.
Ms Majeed assured full support for the initiatives taken by the university under the leadership of Prof Dr Gul Hasan to resolve these issues. She assured the administration that every effort would be made to secure funding from the provincial government for student educational and exposure visits. Moreover, the Advisor pledged to assist in improving youth-oriented facilities and ensuring the successful organization of the upcoming sports week at UoT.
The Advisor emphasized that the government of Balochistan is committed to making significant investments in youth development, aiming to empower the youth politically, socially, and economically.
Ms Meena Majeed also visited various sections of the university, including the Youth Development Center, the Institute of Balochi Language and Culture, and the central library. During the visit, she interacted with students and gained valuable insights into their academic experiences and aspirations.
