The Punjab Minister for Communication & Works, Sardar Muhammad Asif Nakai says agriculture is the backbone of the national economy and the government has earmarked forty billion seven hundred and sixty million rupees to boost this sector in the next fiscal budget.
In a statement, he said that an amount of seven billion eight hundred million rupees have been allocated in the budget 2019-20 for the subsidy on fertilizer and seed, e-credit and crop insurance programme.
He said that the government has decided to set up model auction markets for the provision of reasonable prices of agri products to the farmers.
