Minister of Planning, Ahsan Iqbal, has emphasized the need to launch more projects through public-private partnerships to make Gwadar an attractive destination for investment.

He was presiding over a review meeting in Islamabad regarding the progress of the development of the Gwadar Free Zone, according to a Radio Pakistan report.

Ahsan Iqbal instructed the relevant departments to swiftly resolve land disputes related to the Gwadar Free Zone in accordance with agreements with China Overseas Port Holding Company.

He stated that it is essential to accelerate infrastructure projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to strengthen connectivity with Gwadar.

He directed that funds allocated for completing the M-8 motorway in two parts this year be released immediately.

The Federal Minister also instructed the Quetta Electric Supply Company to complete the pending transmission lines within three months to improve the electricity supply system for Gwadar Port.

He proposed offering incentives to create a favorable environment for investment in Gwadar and suggested encouraging various companies to explore more opportunities in the region.

The Minister of Planning also directed the preparation of a comprehensive plan for the implementation of the Gwadar Master Plan over the next three years to ensure the sustainable development of the port city.
