Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, emphasized the importance of fostering a positive national mindset during his visit to the Cancer Care Hospital in Lahore on Saturday.

He highlighted the hospital’s role as a symbol of national resilience and generosity, praising its free comprehensive cancer care services for deserving patients.

During his visit, Minister Iqbal engaged with patients and was briefed on the country’s cancer treatment landscape by Prof. Dr. Sheryar, a board member of the hospital. He commended the Pakistani doctors and philanthropists who have made quality cancer treatment accessible, emphasizing the hospital’s testament to the Pakistani spirit.

Minister Iqbal addressed the assembly, encouraging Pakistanis to focus on opportunities rather than limitations. He linked this outlook to the government’s long-term economic vision under the Uraan Pakistan initiative, which aims to transform Pakistan into a trillion-dollar economy by 2035.

Highlighting health challenges, Minister Iqbal noted the country’s alarming rates of hepatitis, diabetes, and child malnutrition. He stressed the government’s commitment to tackling these through a three-year national healthcare program under the Uraan Pakistan initiative, with significant budget allocations for treatment and prevention.

Concluding his visit, Iqbal reaffirmed his support for the Cancer Care Hospital and its mission. He urged the nation to unite in addressing health challenges to create a healthier, more prosperous Pakistan.
