Airbus company again visits PIA plane crash site in Karachi

KARACHI:A technical experts team of the Airbus company on Wednesday again visited the PIA plane crash site in Model Colony area of Karachi with modern equipment and collected more evidences for the investigation into the incident.

Members of Aircraft Accident Investigation Board briefed the 11-member team of the Airbus company about their findings.

The team from the French city of Toulouse reached yesterday in Karachi airport and underwent the coronavirus precautionary measures after which they were cleared to proceed. The same day, they visited the A320 plane crash site and Karachi airport runway to collect findings. The team was accompanied by top PIA officials. The company is conducting an investigation into the plane crash to find whether it was an engine failure.

A PIA flight PK-8303 with 99 people crashed in Karachi on Friday. The plane that crashed has been manufactured by the Airbus company. The local authorities said 97 people were killed in the plane crash.

Maracuriously, two people, including Bank of Punjab CEO Zaffar Masood survived the plane crash. A spokesman for Pakistan’s aviation authority said that the plane crashed when it was about to land.
