ISLAMABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) is fully locked-down for the third consecutive day today (Thursday) amid fears of the spread of coronavirus.
The individuals were allowed to move out to buy edibles and medicines. Municipal services, electricity, water supply, Special Communication Organization, other cellular companies and banks and other institutions of essential services continue working with the minimum staff.
AJK government has ordered concerned authorities to initiate strict action against those involved in hoarding or profiteering. Meanwhile, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir government is compiling digital data of the citizens who recently travelled to or from the state.
The spokesman of AJK Prime Minister told media in Muzaffarabad on Thursday that after compilation of the record, government officials would visit door to door for their screening and monitoring.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan appealed such travellers to voluntarily contact the relevant government departments for their mandatory screening and check-up.
