AKU signs MoU to provide discounted treatment to policemen

KARACHI: Central Police Office (CPO) Karachi held a simple and impressive ceremony on Thursday, in which IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon and representatives of Aga Khan Hospital (AKU) and authorized Chief Executive Officer signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

This was the first time that a formal written agreement has been signed between AKU and the Sindh Police. On this occasion, AIG Welfare Sindh Faisal Abdullah Chachar and other police officers on behalf of the Sindh Police also signed the MoU along with three other AKU representatives.

According to the MoU, the hospital administration will have to provide all the necessary treatment facilities to the policemen injured in terrorism and bomb blast incidents after being referred by the competent authority.

In the deal, it was further agreed that the hospital administration will make it a priority to provide emergency services including admission and treatment facility, to the Sindh police personnel. The hospital will also give a 20% discount to Sindh police employees in terms of treatment fees. AIG Welfare Sindh will have to issue a necessary regular cover letter before treatment and admission of patients and injured policemen.
