A high-powered Al Jazeera delegation is scheduled to visit Pakistan to gain the nation”s perspective on key regional and global issues, it was announced following a meeting here today where President Asif Ali Zardari praised Qatar”s leadership in efforts to end the conflict in Gaza.
The development occurred during discussions between President Zardari and Nasser Bin Faisal Bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Director General of the Al-Jazeera Media Network. During the talks, the President conveyed his appreciation for Qatar”s role in utilizing media diplomacy to promote peace and understanding.
President Zardari commended the global media network for its commitment to objective journalism and its work in fostering comprehension among nations. He also lauded Qatar”s principled stance on international matters, specifically highlighting its initiatives to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and bring tranquility to the region.
In his remarks, Director General Al Thani expressed gratitude to the President for the opportunity to meet. He also acknowledged Pakistan’s support and solidarity with Qatar during a recent crisis and its consistent advocacy for the people of Palestine.
The President, who welcomed the Director General, also referenced the warm hospitality extended by the host nation and the excellent meetings held with the Qatari leadership, including the Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Prime Minister, and the Minister for Defence.
The meeting was also attended by First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Pakistan”s Ambassador to Qatar.
