Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh has demanded that all towns and cities in the province need to receive an equal share of development funds so that residents can access better facilities at their doorstep.
According to a JI statement today, the rapid development of other cities in Sindh will not only boost the economy but also help reduce feelings of deprivation among the citizens, he said.
Mr Sheikh said that major cities of Sindh, including Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Nawabshah, and Mirpurkhas, lack modern education and health facilities. The people of these cities have to travel to Karachi for better healthcare and education. In smaller cities across Sindh, urban infrastructure lags far behind that of similar cities in Punjab, he noted.
The JI leader emphasized that both provincial and federal governments should allocate special funds for the rapid development of smaller cities in Sindh. He called for priority completion of delayed development projects. He specifically mentioned the long-pending Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway project. Additionally, he pointed out that the two-lane road from Jamshoro to Sehwan has remained incomplete even after ten years.
He also called for the immediate completion of developmental work at Gorakh Hill, a major tourist destination in Sindh, to provide better facilities to tourists and residents of surrounding areas.
