Lahore, July 07, 2020 (PPI-OT): An important meeting of Punjab Cabinet Committee for Anti Coronavirus held at CM’s Office today to review the measures taken to deal with the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting also reviewed the preparation of SOPs and other necessary arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha. The Chief Minister Usman Buzdar directed to set up cattle market 15 days before Eid-ul-Adha outside the premises of cities boundaries and said that SOPs should immediately be finalized in this regard. Usman Buzdar has expressed satisfaction over the reduction of coronavirus pandemic in the province due to smart lockdown and said that number of corona affected patients in Punjab are 80297 whereas 42854 patients have been recovered.

He said during the last 24 hours 1341 patients have been reported in Punjab. He said medicines and injections are available in abundant quantity. Punjab government have conducted more than 12000 inspections on selling medicines on exorbitant rate. No one will be allowed to increase the prices of medicines in the province, he added. Punjab government will launch a pilot project for reviewing the presence of virus in the sewerage water. Punjab government, in order to take better decision, has constituted a technical working group of renowned medical experts. He said that National Command and Control Centre has performed outstandingly during the last 100 days.

Authorities of Command and Control Centre deserve congratulation. Punjab government has taken affective measures to stop the spread of coronavirus pandemic at all level. He also lauded the services of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff. Provincial Ministers Dr. Yasmeen Rashid, Mian Aslam Iqbal, Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan, Chief Secretary, IG Police, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) and secretaries of concerned departments were present on this occasion while senior officials attended the meeting through video link.
