Anti-money laundering legislation in larger interest of country: Ijaz Ahmad Shah

Islamabad, September 19, 2020 (PPI-OT): Interior Minister, Ijaz Ahmad Shah has said that anti-money laundering legislation has been made in the larger interest of the country rather than benefiting any political party. Addressing a ceremony in Lahore, he said no one is above the law and accountability, and all efforts are being made for uplift of economy. He said the incumbent government is more into resolving the problems faced by the business community.

Ijaz Shah said Prime Minister Imran Khan is committed to revival of national economy and he is giving 60 percent of his time for the purpose. He said the new laws passed by the parliament regarding money laundering are not meant to hurt common people, but those who are earning and laundering the money illegally. Ijaz Shah said the Ministry of Interior is working hard to protect the interests of the business community.
