The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) launched a series of operations targeting drug trafficking near educational institutions across Pakistan, resulting in the seizure of 23.7 kilograms of illicit substances and the apprehension of four individuals.
The confiscated narcotics are estimated to be worth over 2.829 million rupees, according to an official statement from the ANF spokesperson. Two suspects were apprehended near a university in Islamabad with 500 grams of opium and 8.4 kilograms of hashish. The detainees admitted to distributing drugs among university pupils.
In other operations, authorities confiscated 100 grams of hashish from an air cargo package destined for Karachi at Lahore”s Allama Iqbal International Airport. Law enforcement also seized 9.6 kilograms of hashish from a bus traveler near the Colonel Sher Khan Interchange in Mardan. Additionally, 5.1 kilograms of crystal meth was recovered from an individual near a bus station in Lahore.
Cases have been filed against the arrested individuals under the Anti-Narcotics Force Act 1997, and inquiries are underway.
